Our mission is to inform you of the truth about safety concerns regarding tourist travel to St. Lucia.
My wife and I planned a romantic second honeymoon in a secluded eco-lodge with a beautiful view of the Piton Mountains, the fishing village of Soufriere and the Caribbean Sea. We never would have anticipated the danger and the horror that we experienced there. On the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia we discovered an unsafe environment, a place where violent attacks against tourists are quieted by the media for the benefit of the tourist industry, a shanty hospital clinic, an inept police force and a callous politician who places the blame on the victims.
Our aim is to inform you of our story and the stories of others who traveled to Saint Lucia with the idea of a romantic getaway and instead were confronted by violent attacks. We want you to be aware of the risks involved in traveling to St. Lucia and we want to prevent this from happening to you. All stories posted are either provided to us by the victims or include the proper references to published material. There's no anectodal evidence.
Our second goal is to attrack the attention of the St. Lucian government and U.S. Embassy to confront the issues, improve safety on the island, and put the criminals behind bars.
On March 14-24, 2007, the ICC Cricket World Cup venue is in St. Lucia. This event could be a free-for-all for violent thieves if current conditions continue.
So, you may ask, why go to the extent of creating a website? ...because there is NO website notifying travelers about risks associated with travel to St. Lucia.
